Can you believe this is the original anchor form the USS Arizona?! It's huge!
Above is Ford Island with the USS Arizona Memorial.
There are a couple turrets, from the USS Arizona, that are visible above water.
There are over 900 men entombed in the USS Arizona. Plus there have been over 30 urns placed inside of men that were serving on the Arizona at the time of the attack.
I know the story, I've seen it in the movies. I was surprised with my emotions as we toured the visitors center and memorial. These men didn't have a chance to fight.
I love the design of the Memorial. It's impressive and sobering.
It has six guns in front and three more in the back. Huge guns!!
We've toured battleships before. I'm always amazed at the small space for sleeping.
A different bus took us back to the visitors center. It made a stop at the Aviation Museum. I had to get off the bus for others so I quickly snapped a picture. This tower wasn't here when Pearl Harbor was attacked. It was built a year later and was in the movie Pearl Harbor.
The cemetery was a drive thru, basically.
Our last stop was King Kamehameha. This King united all the islands together.
After two days of sight seeing we were pretty tired. McKinzie had given Brian a gift card to Macaroni Grill for his birthday. She said we were suppose to use it on our "honeymoon". She used that word a couple times. It made me smile.
We found one not too far from our hotel. We hadn't had Macaroni Grill since we lived in Fort Worth. It tasted soo good!! We ate maybe 3 loves of bread before our meal arrived. Then we ate our entire meal!! I had no idea we were this hungry. It was another great day on Oahu!!
