Kindergartener!!!

This boy started kindergarten today! I can't believe Adam is old enough for that!  I talked with McKinzie this morning and it sounded like he had a hard time this morning. He's been looking forward to this for weeks. He woke up excited and ready to go. When they arrived at school and Adam saw the building he didn't want to go anymore. McKinzie said he cried and cried. Man, that broke my heart!! I've thought about him all day. Hoping he'd be brave enough to talk to his teacher. Hoping he had a good lunch, he bought today.

I Facetimed them after school and...it was a success!! He had a great time. He showed me two worksheets he did at school. He bought pizza for lunch and also ate half a banana. He said he had a brownie but didn't have time to eat it. He had to go out to recess.

I asked home since he had fun today if he was excited for tomorrow. He sad no. He would miss his mom. Carson then shared how he use to miss his mom while at school but still went every day because he had friends there and how he wanted learn at school. Carson told Adam he thought school was fun.

I hope tomorrow is easier for him. He doesn't know this but next week I'm going to have lunch with him at school! I can't wait!! I miss all of them so much! The count down is on!!

Twin Falls ~ park

We drove over this gorge on that bridge as we went into Twin Falls. On our way back to the hotel we stopped to check it out. Another beautiful view!

Geoff wanted to climb a rock. Since it was more of a trail McKinzie joined him. They are in the middle of these next few pictures. He has a white t-shirt on.  Look close.

They made it to the top! Wahoo!!

Twin Falls Temple

I didn't realize we would be so close to the temple. I requested to stop. So we did!

I loved the flowers they planted! All of it was beautiful!

This was our first of many temples while we were on vacation. Lots more to come!

Gooding ~ Hotel

Before we even arrive at the hotel I talk to McKinzie and she tells me the place is haunted! To be honest it looks the part. But I did tell her NOT to say that in front of any littles. ;)

The first morning all together we tie-dyed shirts. It was a little tricky folding them up. I was anxious waiting for them to dry. It took days!

Karlee was suppose to be reading that book. It was a summer Literature assignment for school. (btw-she finished her summer assignment the night before it was due...typical.)
We took a selfie on the swing. It was nice having Bailee back with us. I missed her while she was at school.

This girl LOVES Tank, if you couldn't tell.

OK...she loves ALL dogs. :D
Kinzie did her hair super cute. We then saw Lexi's hair and Holly did Retta's to match.
Two cute girls!!

Shuldberg Reunion ~ Thousand Springs

This first week of August all the Shuldberg's met in Gooding, Idaho for a reunion. I know Gooding is a strange place to meet but we did and we had fun!

At Thousand Springs the kids swam/played in a spring fed river.  It was cold!

These two became fast friends. It was so fun to watch them play.

 After lunch...

Julie and I went for a walk to the falls. She found this perfect spot for a picture!
As everyone was leaving I took the kids in my car to the falls for a quick picture.

school...again!

I still need to post about our family reunion but this day is super important!
We have a Senior, 8th, and 4th grader this year.

Today is Karlee's last first day! I can't believe it! My timid, teary-eyed kindergartener called me this morning in tears. There was a mix up at school and they wouldn't allow her to drive herself to the career center. Well, this mama bear would not hear of that! I made a few phone calls, tried to talk nice (that didn't last long), than called the office to have Karlee come home, but instead of home I sent her to the career center!  She can't miss her first day! I hope it gets better for her...

Such a beauty! Inside and out!
Mason shared with me this morning that he wasn't nervous for school just didn't want to go. Where did this come from?! We went to school Monday to pick up his schedule, drop off his supplies in his locker, and walk his schedule. He was fine. In fact a little excited!! But this morning was rough for him as well. Will the first day ever be easy... :(

Then there's this boy. Monday we also went to CJ's school to meet his teacher.  I don't think the 4th graders were suppose to but meeting the teacher relieves so many anxieties. So we did. Today he was ready to get to school and just get it started. As we waited on the blacktop he was excited every time he saw a friend.  Super excited to see AJ even though he saw him yesterday at the pool!

I left him before they went into the school. He has this handled.

I've already had the tires rotated, been to Sams and sent Bailee off to work. I still have a few more errands to do today but all day, like every other first day of school, I'll be thinking of my kids. I hope they are having fun being with their friends. I hope they have someone to sit with for lunch. I hope it's all good and they come home happy. :D I'm crossing fingers and saying prayers.

veggies

A couple weeks ago the kids and I spent 3 hours weeding the garden and flower beds. They were that bad! Especially the garden. But now you can see what's growing.

We've already enjoyed radishes, two leaf lettuces, peas, bell pepper, green onions, and cucumbers. We have only six corn cobs. I think the birds got to the seeds once we planted. Lots of tiny cucumbers to grow. And lots and lots of tomatoes to ripen. I can't wait for the tomatoes!! The ones I bottled last summer ran out last week! I plan on bottling a few more this year.

We've had lots of strawberries too! Five raspberries so far. But I know year after year that will grow! I love our garden!!
