Alcatraz Island

I took many, many pictures at Alcatraz. Here are a select few.

Baby birds

The self guided tour is the only way to tour this place. So much information.

While we were at Alcatraz we ran into our friend from Saginaw, David W. We were shocked! He took this picture of us to send to Jennifer, she was at the hotel. I knew they were in San Francisco too but I didn't think there would be chance to see them. Small world.

Here's the adult bird of that baby.

Such a small space to live.
Kitchen knives were outlined so the guards could take a quick glace to see if a knife was missing.
The guards and their families lived here in this building. The inmates helped maintain gardens. It surprised me how close inmates were to the guards families.
These birds are fluffy.
The island has become a bird habitat. All these birds sure were messy.
